Interior Ministry: Seizure of 180 bottles ready for sale, 18 barrels, and distillation equipment

Kuwait officials: Moral police conducted a raid that resulted in the seizure of a den for producing and distributing local alcohol in the Farwaniya area, run by two Asians who had converted a residential apartment into an illegal factory operating under conditions that lacked even the most basic health standards.

According to a security source, information reached the moral police indicating that one of the Asians was exploiting an apartment he rented to produce local alcohol with the aim of distributing it in the market. Security forces then began gathering necessary intelligence and verifying the accuracy of the information before obtaining legal authorization and raiding the site.

The source clarified that the moral police stormed the den and caught the main suspect in the act of producing and preparing alcohol for packaging. Inside the apartment, they found 180 bottles of alcohol ready for sale, along with 18 barrels filled with alcohol and distillation and evaporation equipment used in the production process. The suspect confessed during initial investigations that he had another partner who shared responsibility for production and distribution. The source added that the moral police set up a tight ambush and apprehended the partner as soon as he arrived at the den.

The source stated that the suspects admitted to selling alcohol to several Asians, who in turn resold and distributed it as part of an illegal distribution network.

The source emphasized that the seized alcohol was produced in an unhealthy environment that violated health regulations, posing a direct threat to public health. He noted that the suspects were referred to the General Administration for Combating Narcotics and Alcohol to complete investigations and identify other involved parties, reiterating that the Ministry of Interior’s agencies continue to pursue all forms of such illegal practices and track down anyone proven to be involved in the production or distribution of intoxicating substances, in order to safeguard community security and safety.
