Interior Ministry: Seizure of approximately 87,000 drug pills and 1.5 kg of various narcotics

The Ministry of the Interior announced that the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics had arrested 12 suspects across eight separate cases, seizing approximately 87,000 pills and 1.5 kilograms of various narcotics.

In a statement, the ministry said the arrests followed intelligence and investigations confirming the suspects’ involvement in trafficking and consuming drugs, leading to their detention after the necessary legal procedures were carried out. The ministry added that the seized items included 86,700 Lariaca capsules, 100 other drug tablets, 940 grams of heroin, 405 grams of Shabu, 20 grams of marijuana, 100 milliliters of Chemical Oil, four glass bottles also containing Chemical Oil, and three sensitive scales.

The ministry noted that one of the cases was handled in coordination with the General Customs Authority, during which one suspect was apprehended while receiving a shipment from abroad. The shipment was found to contain decorative panels hiding narcotics and pills.

The Ministry of the Interior confirmed that all suspects and seized items have been referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary actions.
