The State of Qatar welcomed the statement issued by the members of the Security Council on August 7, which condemned the missile attacks launched by the Houthi terrorist group against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since July 13, as well as the attacks on commercial ships since July 22. In a statement, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar’s full appreciation for the statement’s emphasis on the necessity of adhering to international law and relevant Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216, and for rejecting acts that threaten regional security and the rights and freedoms of maritime navigation. The Ministry reaffirmed Qatar’s complete solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty and security, while also affirming that Saudi security is an integral part of Qatar’s security and the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
