Trabzon Announces Breaking Its Historical Record for Season Ticket Sales

The echoes of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah’s move to Trabzonspor continue to reverberate, as the Turkish club announced it had broken its all-time record for seasonal ticket sales. Trabzon revealed that it had sold 18,000 seasonal tickets for the 2026-2027 season, setting a new record. The club stated on its X platform: “Not all records are just numbers; some tell a story of the city’s faith, its sense of belonging, and the strength of a community united as one body. Today, the headline of this record is: 18,000. By reaching the milestone of 18,000 seasonal tickets for the 2026-2027 season, we have broken the historical record for seasonal ticket sales in our club’s history. This achievement was realized thanks to proper planning, collective wisdom, patience, and the convergence of faithful hearts united by a single goal.”

The club added: “While we are proud of the record we achieved today, we are simultaneously announcing our new goal: 25,000 seasonal tickets! Because this city has never been content with merely standing at the top.”

According to the Turkish channel HT SPOR, Trabzon generated revenues of approximately 12 million euros from the sale of season tickets and Mohamed Salah jerseys within a short period, in just three days. The club clarified that Salah will receive an annual salary of 10 million euros, plus a 7 million euro signing bonus, bringing the total guaranteed financial compensation to 17 million euros. The contract also includes financial incentives linked to the player’s performance during the contract period.

Trabzonspor noted that Mohamed Salah will also receive 20% of the revenue from official merchandise launched under his name, while the player’s agent’s commission was 5%, according to the disclosed contract details.

Mohamed Salah played nine seasons for Liverpool before his transfer to Trabzonspor, participating in 315 matches, scoring 257 goals, and providing 120 assists.

Salah quickly integrated into the team, immediately participating in Trabzon’s training sessions. Meanwhile, the mayor of the Turkish district of Araklı, Çebi, offered Salah a plot of land in the area, considering it one of the best places to live in the future. Speaking to Salah, the mayor said: “Living in Egypt will become more difficult in the future, while our region will be one of the most livable areas, and it will be the least affected by global warming.” He added: “We would like to offer Salah a beautiful piece of land here, providing him with an excellent place where he can live with his children and grandchildren, without any water-related issues.”
