Ministry of Housing Continues to Offer Investment Opportunities Through Digital Platforms for Egyptian and Foreign Investors

The Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities confirmed its continued offering of a diverse range of investment opportunities in new cities through the digital platforms for Egyptian and foreign investment, denominated in local and foreign currencies, operated by the New Urban Communities Authority. These offerings take place from the 1st to the 15th of each month, aiming to attract more investments, maximize the utilization of state-owned assets, enhance the investment climate, facilitate procedures for investors, and support the state’s efforts in digital transformation and governance.

Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Eng. Randa Al-Munshawi, stated that these offerings are part of the state’s strategy to achieve sustainable urban development and increase the private sector’s contribution to implementing developmental projects, in alignment with the objectives of Egypt Vision 2030. This approach enhances the competitiveness of new cities as attractive centers for investment and population.

She noted that new cities are witnessing a significant boom in the volume of investments and urban development, representing one of the most important pillars of economic development during the current stage. She emphasized the continued efforts of the New Urban Communities Authority to offer promising investment opportunities in new cities to boost urban development and attract investments.

Al-Munshawi also highlighted the distinction of the offered sites within new cities based on planning studies, noting that a large percentage of them are located on main axes, regional roads, and areas with high population densities. This enhances the economic feasibility of projects and achieves the highest investment returns.

For his part, Dr. Walid Abbas, Deputy Minister of Housing for Urban Communities, clarified that by the 15th of the current month, nearly 99 investment opportunities will be offered on the Authority’s Investor Services Portal in Egyptian pounds for Egyptian companies. These opportunities feature various areas suitable for different investor categories, starting from 500 square meters for small and medium projects and reaching more than 39 feddans for major projects with multi-activity uses. He added that since the beginning of August, approximately 204 requests from foreign companies have been received through the Foreign Investment Portal.

Abbas explained that the offered investment activities span more than 15 sectors, including commercial, administrative, medical, educational, sports, recreational, hotel, tourism, service, and logistics activities, as well as mixed-use projects. These offerings meet the development needs of new cities and have been presented in several cities, such as New Cairo, New Damietta, New Salhiya, Obour, New Obour, Badr, 15 May, New Qena, and other cities in Upper Egypt and elsewhere.

In his turn, Eng. Ahmed Ibrahim, Deputy Chairman of the Authority for the Planning and Projects Sector, pointed out that within the framework of the Ministry’s digital transformation strategy, the New Urban Communities Authority continues to develop the investment system in new cities to achieve the highest levels of efficiency, transparency, and governance in managing assets and investment opportunities.

The system relies on the complete digitalization of the workflow, starting from announcing investment opportunities on the New Urban Communities Authority’s website and uploading data, maps, and documents, through electronic submission and tracking of applications, to inspection, evaluation, and decision-issuance procedures. This contributes to reducing reliance on paper documents, saving time and effort, and improving the quality of services provided to investors.
