As the 2026/2027 academic year approaches, attention is turning to the Ministry of Education, with preparations underway across various fronts to ensure a stable school start. This comes amid widespread interest from parents and educational staff regarding the readiness of schools and educational services.

Educational sources confirmed to “Al-Anbaa” that the Ministry of Education is continuing to implement the final touches on its preparations. School maintenance works top the list of priorities, with the educational field awaiting the completion of all maintenance and rehabilitation activities in schools. This is alongside equipping classrooms, ensuring the readiness of air conditioning systems and various facilities, verifying the preparedness of buildings, infrastructure, and essential services, and monitoring progress on projects linked to the new academic year to provide a suitable learning environment for students.

Regarding the curriculum file, questions remain about the completion of textbook printing and the mechanisms for distributing them to schools before the start of classes. The textbook file is under direct supervision to ensure that printing and distribution processes are completed according to approved schedules.

In the file of educational staff, there is ongoing monitoring of procedures for appointing new teachers and assigning them to schools, as well as filling any gaps in various specializations. Competent authorities are continuing to complete procedures for distributing teachers and administrative staff to schools. Preparations also include finalizing the formation of administrative bodies in schools and implementing training programs for school principals and their assistants, aiming to enhance the readiness of educational leaders to handle the requirements of the new academic year.

In the context of development, the educational field anticipates announcements of new initiatives related to digital transformation and the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the educational process, alongside the development of electronic platforms to contribute to improving the quality of education.

There is also a focus on the Ministry’s preparations to provide educational services to students with disabilities and learning difficulties, through the provision of specialized personnel and supportive programs that ensure they receive appropriate education.

On the safety front, there is ongoing monitoring of school security and safety plans and bus readiness. Preparations related to emergency plans are continuing, along with ensuring the implementation of security and safety requirements within schools to safeguard the safety of students and staff. This is in addition to completing the preparation of new schools and educational projects, some of which will enter service during the academic year. Furthermore, preparations for school cafeterias are underway, ensuring compliance with health requirements and the quality of meals provided.
