Infantino apologizes for FIFA's investment crisis... and secures management support despite mounting European pressure

FIFA President Gianni Infantino sparked a fresh wave of controversy after issuing a formal apology for the errors that accompanied an investment project aimed at involving private-sector investors in certain FIFA tournaments.

In a letter to national associations, Infantino and FIFA Secretary General Matthieu Chazaud reaffirmed their commitment to avoiding a recurrence of these mistakes, while the FIFA Council announced its full support for Infantino to remain in his post following a meeting held in Rabat, Morocco.
