Al-Anbaa publishes conditions for converting visits to family reunification for wives and children

A security source told Al-Anbaa that visits can be converted to “family reunification” residence permits under Article 22 for those who meet the conditions, provided their monthly salary is no less than 800 Kuwaiti dinars. These individuals are allowed to bring their wives and sons under the age of 18, and daughters under the age of 21. The conversion requires payment of a 150-dinar fee, health insurance, and residence stamps.

The source stated that large numbers of expatriates had submitted applications to the residence affairs departments in Kuwait’s six governorates, mistakenly believing that the decision applied to everyone. He confirmed that hundreds of applications were rejected for not complying with the ministerial decision, while applicants for other requests were asked to wait for approval or rejection.

The source clarified that the residence departments in the six governorates process applications according to the residential address registered on the residence permit. After verifying the applications and determining their compliance with the ministerial decision, the departments forward them electronically to the Director General.
