CENTCOM: 49 commercial vessels rerouted since the imposition of the blockade on Iranian ports

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Thursday that the routes of 49 commercial vessels have been altered so far as part of the U.S. enforcement of sanctions on Iranian ports. In a statement, CENTCOM noted that U.S. forces have, to date, diverted 49 commercial ships, disrupted two, and boarded two others. It is worth noting that U.S. forces resumed maritime enforcement against ships bound for Iranian ports and coastal areas, or arriving from Iran, starting July 14, in response to attacks on commercial vessels and the obstruction of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
