Ministry of Higher Education to Students: Register Preferences for Coordination Promptly and Do Not Wait Until the End of the First Phase
Cairo - Ahmed Sabri The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research continued the first phase of the electronic coordination for admission to public universities and institutes for the 2026/2027 academic year, for the second consecutive day, through the Electronic Coordination Website. The registration of preferences will continue until 7:00 PM on Sunday, August 9, 2026.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Giushi, Acting Head of the Education Sector and Supervisor of the Electronic Coordination Office, confirmed the regularity of the preference registration process, noting that the website operates efficiently and allows students to register or modify their preferences around the clock throughout the phase. He emphasized that the last modification made before the registration window closes will be considered valid.
He clarified that admission to public universities and institutes is based on the total score, the order of preferences, and the regulations governing the coordination process. He urged students to register their preferences promptly and avoid delaying them until the final days of the phase, while advising them to take their time in arranging and carefully reviewing their preferences before final submission to ensure they choose the most suitable academic path.
He added that computer labs at public universities continue to welcome students wishing to register their preferences and provide them with free technical support during official working hours, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM throughout the first phase.
For his part, Dr. Adel Abdel-Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stated that the Ministry continues to implement its media campaign to raise awareness about electronic coordination. This includes publishing press releases, infographics, awareness videos, and guides via official platforms, with the aim of informing students about all electronic coordination procedures and helping them register their preferences correctly, while correcting inaccurate concepts circulating regarding the coordination process.
He further emphasized that the Ministry calls on students and parents to rely on the Ministry’s official website, the Electronic Coordination Website, and the Ministry’s official social media pages to obtain accurate information, and to avoid being misled by rumors or inaccurate information circulating through unofficial pages.
