Ministry of Health and Forensic Evidence Department discuss enhancing cooperation in developing national competencies in forensic medicine

The Deputy Minister of Health, Sheikh Dr. Salman Khalifa Al-Sabah, received a delegation from the General Administration of Criminal Evidence at the Ministry of the Interior, led by Assistant Director General of the General Administration of Criminal Evidence, Brigadier General Mishari Al-Risha. The delegation included Director of the Forensic Medicine Department, Colonel Physician Lujain Al-Rashid, and Colonel Physician Dr. Mohammed Al-Hariti. The meeting was held to strengthen cooperation and joint coordination between the Ministries of Health and Interior, and to explore ways to develop work in the field of forensic medicine and enhance programs for preparing and qualifying national medical personnel in this vital specialty.

During the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Health expressed his appreciation for the persistent efforts made to strengthen ties of cooperation between the two ministries, emphasizing that both ministries work as a single team striving to achieve shared national goals that serve the country and its citizens, contribute to the development of the specialized work system, and enhance service quality according to the highest professional standards.

The meeting addressed several topics related to developing training and qualification programs in forensic medicine, and strengthening integration with relevant academic and training institutions, thereby supporting the preparation and qualification of national competencies and keeping pace with the future needs of this vital specialty.

The participants also reviewed several developmental initiatives aimed at enhancing the training infrastructure and specialized services, expanding cooperation areas with relevant entities, and supporting programs dedicated to preparing and qualifying Kuwaiti doctors, thereby improving performance efficiency and elevating the forensic medicine system in the State of Kuwait.

The Deputy Minister of Health reaffirmed the Ministry’s full support for national medical personnel through scholarship, training, and cooperation programs with various relevant entities. He pointed to the ongoing implementation of a comprehensive plan to prepare qualified national cadres in forensic medicine, which will enhance the sustainability of this vital specialty and raise the level of professional readiness in line with best practices.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation between the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Interior, and relevant academic and training institutions, to achieve institutional integration, enhance investment in national human resources, and support the continuous development of specialized services in the State of Kuwait.
