For the second consecutive day, the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and the Public Authority for Manpower carried out a new campaign targeting the Shuwaikh Industrial Area, resulting in the apprehension of 48 violators of the labor and residency laws. The Ministry of Interior stated in a press release that the campaign included inspections and audits of 120 commercial establishments.
It noted that the detainees included one absconder, nine individuals holding Article 20 permits (domestic workers), 36 expatriates holding Article 18 permits (private sector), and one expatriate against whom an arrest warrant had been issued due to his association with a non-existent company under Article 18, as well as a violator of Article 22 (joining a family member). It confirmed that appropriate legal and administrative measures were taken against all violators, paving the way for their referral to the competent authorities.
