Death of Uganda National Team Coach!

Ugandan police said that David Ori, a player for the Uganda national team and captain of one of the country’s largest football clubs, died after being assaulted in the capital, Kampala. Police spokesperson Rachel Kawala added that Ori, 28, captain of SC Villa, was seriously injured by unidentified assailants who attacked him in a suburb of Kampala. Kawala said that passersby found him unconscious and took him to a nearby hospital before transferring him to another facility, where his death was later confirmed. In a statement, the Uganda Football Association said: “David was not just a player; he was a leader and an inspiration to an entire generation. He captained SC Villa with courage, humility, and passion. In the Uganda national team jersey, he carried the hopes of an entire nation.” Ori’s death follows the passing of another prominent sports figure last June. According to police, rugby player Sydney Jongodiu died after being assaulted in Kampala.
