Al-Azraq Al-Shabab to face Jordan tomorrow, Saturday

Kuwait officials: Our national under-20 football team will face their Jordanian counterparts tomorrow, Saturday, in a friendly match as part of preparations for both teams’ participation in the Asian Cup qualifiers. The finals of the tournament are scheduled to be held in China from March 24 to April 10 next year.

The Blue and Jordan will meet again on the upcoming Tuesday for a second friendly encounter. Our national team is preparing to compete in Group 7 of the Asian qualifiers, which will be hosted in Cambodia from August 31 to September 6 next year. The Blue’s group includes Cambodia, Japan, and Yemen.

Notably, the Blue launched their preparations last July, holding a training camp in the Netherlands that featured several friendly matches. They subsequently returned to the country to continue their local training under the guidance of coach Verdú Melián.

As part of the team’s preparation plan, a final training camp will be held in Thailand in the middle of this month, during which the team will play two friendly matches against Asian teams of the same age category. Following this, the national team delegation will depart for Cambodia to compete in the qualifiers.

Meanwhile, delegations of our national teams born in 2012 and 2013 (the Blue Academy) have departed for Azerbaijan to hold a training camp from August 6 to 20. Each team will play four friendly matches. The delegation of the 2013-born team was led by Ayman Al-Husseini, Deputy Chairman of the Kuwait Football Association Board for Technical Affairs, while the delegation of the 2012-born team was headed by Adel Yousef.
