Kuwait's foreign exchange reserves reach 8.98 billion dinars

A statement of accounts from the Central Bank of Kuwait revealed that cash balances, as well as deposits, certificates of deposit, and treasury bills, along with foreign currency deposits, totaled KD 8.98 billion by the end of July 2026. Meanwhile, the Central Bank’s gold holdings, recorded at their book value at the time of purchase, amounted to KD 31.8 million, and other assets reached KD 158.1 million, bringing the total value of assets to approximately KD 9.177 billion. On the liabilities side, fully paid-up capital stood at KD 5 million, while the Central Bank’s General Reserve Fund totaled KD 1.943 billion, representing the central bank’s accumulated reserves from previous years’ profits, used to strengthen its financial position. Profits for the fiscal year amounted to KD 399.3 million. The balance of currency in circulation held by the bank was KD 2.024 billion.
