The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development announced that Kuwait Telecommunications Company (stc) has contributed a total of $5 million to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund. The contribution includes cash and in-kind support aimed at enhancing the infrastructure of AI-enabled internet networks, in support of the fund launched on July 5 last year to strengthen national preparedness and improve Kuwait’s efficiency in responding promptly to exceptional circumstances.

In a press statement, the Kuwait Fund clarified that this initiative embodies the corporate and national social responsibility of Kuwait Telecommunications Company (stc), reflecting its conviction in the importance of collective efforts to support national initiatives aimed at enhancing the country’s overall readiness.

The Fund emphasized that the group’s contribution highlights the vital and responsible role of the Kuwaiti private sector in supporting government entities, providing the necessary resources for rapid crisis response, and reinforcing values of solidarity and social cohesion.

Kuwait Telecommunications Company (stc) is one of the leading companies in Kuwait’s telecommunications and information technology sector. The company leads digital transformation efforts by providing advanced telecommunications and technology services and solutions to individuals and businesses, and it operates the largest 5G network in the country.

It is worth noting that the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund was established through an initiative by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, following approval by the Council of Ministers, to oversee its management and operations. The fund aims to enhance institutional resilience, improve national response efficiency, and enable relevant authorities to address emergency challenges effectively and efficiently.
