Al-Watani First Bank in Kuwait to Activate Electronic Signature Service

National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) announced the activation of its electronic signature service in recent weeks, becoming the first bank in Kuwait to implement this advanced feature across its banking system. This new step reflects the bank’s leadership in innovation and digital transformation, as well as its ongoing commitment to providing sophisticated banking solutions that enhance customer experience and align with the latest global developments in the financial sector.

The electronic signature service enables customers to complete a wide range of transactions and banking documents digitally and securely, eliminating the need for traditional paper signatures or branch visits. This contributes to accelerating processes, improving operational efficiency, and delivering a more convenient and flexible banking experience.

The activation of the service is part of NBK’s strategy to accelerate digital transformation and develop its technological infrastructure, ensuring the delivery of innovative banking services that meet customer expectations while providing the highest levels of security and reliability. This achievement further strengthens the bank’s track record of pioneering digital initiatives. Recently, NBK launched Kuwait’s first fully integrated digital loan, allowing customers to apply for financing, complete all procedures, and receive approval entirely digitally, without visiting a branch. This marked a significant leap forward in personal financing and digital banking services.

The bank emphasized that the electronic signature service relies on the latest technologies and digital verification systems, ensuring the protection of customer data and the confidentiality of transactions, while also supporting sustainability efforts by reducing reliance on paper documents and helping to lower the environmental footprint.

Commenting on the occasion, Abdulmohsen Al-Rashid, First Vice President and Head of Digital Communications at NBK, said: “At NBK, we continue to invest in the latest digital solutions and technologies that enhance our customers’ experience and simplify their banking procedures. The activation of the electronic signature service is an extension of the innovation journey led by the bank, and a reaffirmation of our commitment to providing modern, secure banking services that place customer needs at the core of our priorities.”

Al-Rashid praised the significant efforts undertaken by the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) in developing the “Huwiyati” application and enhancing electronic signature capabilities. He noted that these qualitative updates have facilitated the digital customer journey and serve as a key enabler for institutions across various sectors to adopt more digital transformation initiatives and deliver integrated services based on digital identity and electronic signatures, aligning with the state’s vision for a more advanced and efficient digital future.

He added that the bank continues to invest in cutting-edge technological solutions to reinforce its leading position in the banking sector and meet customers’ growing expectations for advanced digital services that offer convenience and efficiency in all their banking interactions. He pointed out that this step extends a series of digital initiatives launched by the bank recently, aimed at promoting the use of digital channels and providing a smoother, more efficient banking experience for customers.

He highlighted that NBK recently launched Kuwait’s first fully integrated digital loan, enabling customers to complete all financing procedures entirely through digital channels, underscoring the bank’s direction toward expanding the scope of digital services and delivering sophisticated banking solutions.

NBK continues to solidify its position as one of the most innovative financial institutions in the region by adopting advanced digital solutions that contribute to the development of the Kuwaiti banking sector and enhance customer experience, in line with its vision to lead the future of digital banking services in Kuwait.
