Capital Markets Authority Grants Goldman Sachs First Institutional Marketing Approval for a Collective Investment Scheme Based Outside Kuwait
The Capital Markets Authority granted the first institutional marketing approval for an offshore collective investment scheme in favor of Goldman Sachs International, which holds a license from the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority.
In a press statement, the Capital Markets Authority said this move aligns with the Authority’s strategic objectives, particularly those related to developing the market infrastructure, and falls within its efforts to provide a suitable regulatory environment for introducing and developing investment instruments needed to meet the needs of local and foreign investors across all segments. It further clarified that this decision reflects the Authority’s vision to enhance the attractiveness of the Kuwaiti market as a destination for international financial institutions and to foster a conducive climate for conducting financial activities locally.
