As part of its initiatives stemming from its national project to enhance financial inclusion and investment awareness, the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) received a delegation representing the “Athar” preparatory training program, launched by the Investment Companies Union to qualify young national cadres and bridge theoretical educational aspects with practical realities. The delegation comprised students participating in the program, along with relevant officials from the Union.
This one-day field visit to the Authority is part of the “Athar” program’s initiatives, which include visits to key regulatory bodies and institutions operating in the financial sector, allowing participants to closely observe their functions and operational mechanisms. The visit program included a tour of the Authority’s headquarters, as well as a visual presentation providing an overview of the Capital Markets Authority, its establishment, and its specific objectives as outlined in its founding law, particularly regarding the regulation of securities activities, enhancing transparency, and protecting participants in this sector. The presentation also detailed the functions and jurisdictions of the Authority’s various departments, covering legislative, regulatory, supervisory, and oversight aspects of securities activities, as well as awareness, media, external cooperation, and internal work environment matters.
The visual presentation was delivered by a team representing the Authority’s key departments and regulatory units, including: Badriya Al-Salem from the Awareness, Public Relations, and Communications Office; Rana Al-Walayati from the Executive Director’s Technical Office; Waleed Al-Awais, Director of the Technical Office under the Supervision Sector; Khaled Al-Yassin from the Technical Office under the Markets Sector; Dr. Janan Al-Mukhald from the Technical Office under the Legal Affairs Sector; and Fatima Al-Halil from the Human Resources Department.
On another note, this visit reflects the Capital Markets Authority’s commitment to its social role in promoting financial inclusion, supporting qualification initiatives, and strengthening communication with other national entities, particularly educational and training institutions, in line with its strategic direction toward investing in human capital.
