Minister of Social Affairs: Continuing efforts to consolidate Kuwait's standing in international indicators related to women

Dr. Amthal Al-Huwail, Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood and Chair of the Women’s Affairs Committee, chaired the second meeting of the committee, attended by representatives of the member government entities, to follow up on the implementation of decisions from the first meeting and to continue discussing several files and projects on the agenda.
In a press statement, the Ministry of Social Affairs said the meeting approved the formation of working groups stemming from the committee and discussed the draft project for the Women’s Platform, paving the way for completing the necessary procedures for its launch.
It added that the meeting addressed work priorities related to international indicators and reports concerning women, as well as mechanisms for compiling national data and statistics, contributing to supporting decision-making and enhancing integration among relevant entities.
The statement noted that the committee recommended compiling, documenting, measuring the impact of, and highlighting national initiatives and projects related to women within the committee’s work and the Women’s Platform, thereby reflecting the national efforts made in empowering women and enhancing their participation across various fields.
The statement quoted Al-Huwail emphasizing that the committee continues its work according to a clear plan focused on strengthening coordination among government entities and leveraging national and international data and indicators to support the development of national policies and initiatives.
She stressed the importance of continuing joint efforts to consolidate Kuwait’s standing in international indicators related to women and to enhance its presence in areas of development and community participation.
