Anas al-Maarafi: Kuwait is committed to joint work with the United Nations to enhance cooperation

Our Ambassador to the Republic of Kenya, Anas Ma’arifi, presented his credentials as Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) to Zainab Hawa Bangura, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Nairobi.

In a statement, our embassy in Nairobi noted that Ambassador Ma’arifi conveyed greetings from His Highness Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and Foreign Minister Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, along with their best wishes for her good health and well-being.

Ambassador Ma’arifi praised the distinguished bilateral relations between the State of Kuwait and the United Nations over the past six decades, recalling the historic and pivotal role played by the Organization in the liberation of Kuwait from the brutal Iraqi invasion. He highlighted Kuwait’s commitment to joint efforts with the UN to enhance cooperation that deepens bilateral ties with UNEP and UN-Habitat, as well as the partnership and support provided by Kuwait to both programmes.

For her part, the UN official expressed her sincere greetings to the State of Kuwait, its leadership and people, and emphasized Kuwait’s dedication to strengthening bilateral relations across various fields. She wished Ambassador Ma’arifi success and prosperity in carrying out his duties.
