University Qualification Program for Outstanding High School Students in Medicine and Engineering

Kuwait University hosted the second edition of the University Preparation Program (PRE), organized by the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Talent and Creativity, under the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, in collaboration with the Faculties of Medicine, Engineering, and Petroleum, from the 2nd to the 13th of the current month.

In a press statement, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Adnan Abul, expressed the faculty’s pleasure at hosting the program for the second consecutive year, noting that the participation of outstanding students enables them to explore medical research fields and gain early exposure to specialized medical disciplines. Dr. Abul explained that the program helps prepare students to transition from the school environment to the medical university setting with confidence and stability, adding that participants will get up-close experience with the faculty’s departments, specializations, and the realities of medical practice in lecture halls and laboratories.

He emphasized that the Faculty of Medicine strives to equip students with modern medical knowledge and sciences, while also emphasizing the importance of instilling human values and professional ethics, thereby contributing to the development of a generation of doctors capable of leading the healthcare system with efficiency and competence.

For his part, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Petroleum, Dr. Mohammed Al-Khalidi, welcomed the participating students in a similar statement, affirming the university’s commitment to providing the necessary resources and support, and creating an inspiring educational environment that meets their academic and professional aspirations and needs.

Meanwhile, Dr. Sultan Al-Anzi, supervisor of the University Preparation Program from the Department of Electrical Engineering, stated that such programs contribute to preparing scientists and innovators capable of making a tangible impact in vital and scientific fields across the region.
