Launch of 10 new minibuses to connect new cities with the light rail train

Cairo - Ahmed Sabri: Eng. Kamal El-Wazir, Minister of Transport, chaired the ordinary general assembly of ACTA for Public Transport Company. The meeting witnessed the approval of the company’s financial statements, final accounts, board of directors’ report, auditor’s report, as well as the report of the Internal Transport and Public Transport Department at the Central Auditing Organization, covering the fiscal year ending on December 31, 2025.

During the meeting, the company’s financial and operational performance indicators were reviewed, reflecting its success in supporting the sustainable smart green transport system within new urban communities. This was achieved by providing modern public transport services that rely on the latest smart technologies. The company manages and operates new transport projects in the New Administrative Capital, including an exclusive bus system and the “Capital Taxi” service.

Major General Sabry Abdel Latif, Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors and Executive Managing Director, presented the development of the company’s fleet, which comprises 210 diverse vehicles. These include 60 buses (40 electric and 20 running on natural gas), 10 diesel minibuses, and 140 electric cars, comprising 58 Chevrolet Bolts and 82 MG4s.

The indicators also showed that the company successfully transported more than 3.8 million passengers in 2025, achieving operational revenues of 122.04 million Egyptian pounds, with a net profit of 101.389 million pounds, reflecting the efficiency of the company’s operational and administrative performance.

The meeting reviewed the technical and technological capabilities that enable the company to provide advanced public transport services. Buses are equipped with an audio-visual station announcement system, and necessary facilities for people with disabilities are provided. Additionally, they are fitted with surveillance cameras and tracking devices linked to a control center for real-time monitoring of operational movements.

The “Capital Taxi” system was also reviewed. It is equipped with electronic payment devices (POS), surveillance cameras, and GPS trackers, ensuring strict operational control and achieving the highest levels of quality and safety. An electronic application available on Google Play and Apple Store allows citizens to easily request the service. The scope of the “Capital Taxi” service was outlined, covering new cities (the New Capital, Shorouk, Rehab, Madinaty, and Capital Gardens and Flowers), as well as Madinet Nasr and Heliopolis.

The capabilities of the Operations and Control Center were presented, which is considered one of the most advanced centers for managing and operating smart green transport services in Egypt. The policies adopted to enhance performance levels were also reviewed. These include a focus on human resources by selecting the best drivers, providing suitable administrative and residential facilities for employees, and strengthening healthcare and social welfare systems.

Furthermore, a package of measures aimed at maximizing revenues and improving operational efficiency was implemented, keeping pace with the continuous increase in demand for the New Capital. These efforts integrate with the operation of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) and preparations for the first phase of the East Nile Monorail. The company’s role in providing transport services during various occasions, holidays, and events was also highlighted.
