(AFP) Weapons and ammunition found in the home of the detained gunman at Trump Golf Course

The office of the Los Angeles County Sheriff announced the arrest of an armed man outside Trump National Golf Club in Southern California, ahead of the U.S. president’s visit to the venue for a dinner hosted by the Republican National Committee at the golf course owned by Trump in Rancho Palos Verdes.

In a press release reported by CNN, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office stated that the detainee, 38-year-old Janine Taylor from Downey, a suburb of Los Angeles, was arrested after security personnel observed her taking photos and videos inside the facility, appearing to monitor security measures.

The statement said Taylor was detained on charges of “carrying a concealed firearm and possessing prohibited ammunition,” and noted that investigators from the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division searched her residence due to “potential security implications related to the incident.”

The office added that investigators found an illegally modified AR-style rifle, a .45-caliber pistol, a bulletproof vest, ammunition magazines, wireless communication devices, and multiple notebooks containing “alarming phrases,” according to the office.

In a related development, a law enforcement source told CNN that the Secret Service is investigating whether the detained individual poses a threat to President Trump.
