Syrian Airlines announces the start of its regular flights between Damascus and Moscow on the 16th of this month

Syrian Airlines announced the resumption of its regular and direct flights between Damascus and Moscow, starting on August 16. The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) clarified in its official communications yesterday that this step is part of efforts to strengthen air connectivity between Syria and Russia, and to provide additional travel options for passengers, thereby contributing to the expansion of the network of air routes to and from Damascus International Airport.

GACA Chairman Omar Al-Hussary welcomed the resumption of Syrian Airlines flights to the Russian capital, Moscow, emphasizing that this move represents a new step in enhancing Syria’s openness to the world, expanding its air connectivity network, and providing additional travel options for citizens and travelers. He noted that operating the Damascus-Moscow route is part of ongoing efforts to develop the air transport sector, strengthen the presence of the national carrier, and reconnect Syria with more regional and international destinations in accordance with the highest operational standards.

Earlier, on August 1, the General Authority of Civil Aviation announced that Aleppo International Airport had received its first flight from Turkish airline SunExpress, arriving from Antalya, as well as its first flight from Saudi carrier FlyNAS, arriving from Riyadh, and its first flight from German company LEAV Aviation, arriving from Düsseldorf.
