FIFA denies reports of Infantino's contact with Trump

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) denied reports claiming that Gianni Infantino had contacted U.S. President Donald Trump and members of his administration. The FIFA media center wrote on the X platform: “FIFA President has not contacted the President of the United States or any member of his administration in recent days. This is entirely baseless,” referring to a report published by Britain’s The Times, which stated two days ago that Infantino sought Trump’s assistance after his plans involving investors failed and criticism of his management style intensified. The newspaper also cited a report published by the widely circulated U.S. newspaper The New York Post, which quoted an unnamed source saying that Infantino felt “isolated” in the face of a barrage of negative media coverage, adding that “he is seeking influential allies to publicly support him.”
