Abdul Rida to Al-Anbaa: The Coast is capable of returning... and mistakes are not allowed

Al-Sahli head coach Ali Abdul-Razzaq stressed that mistakes are not an option in the remaining five matches of the First Division’s Zain League, as they are decisive for the title. In a statement to “Al-Anba,” he said: “Defeating direct rival Al-Yarmouk and drawing in two other matches are not disappointing results for the team, for several reasons, the most important being the departure of 14 players, the lack of any pre-season friendly matches before the league resumed, and the delayed arrival of foreign players. We must also not overlook that playing every three days in high temperatures caused player fatigue, in addition to injuries, which took a toll on the team as we lost two of our foreign players to injury.”

The former international emphasized that the shifting standings in the First Division reflect a significant increase in the competitiveness of the league, with all clubs striving to achieve their objectives, whether by qualifying for the Premier League or securing a high position in the competition. He added: “The team that is physically better prepared and has a good number of substitute players will have a better chance of securing one of the two promotion spots to the Premier League. As for Al-Sahli, everyone is giving their best, and we hope to continue with the same determination and resolve, making up for the points we dropped in our draws against Khaitan and Burqan.”

Regarding his team’s match against “Sporty” tomorrow, Thursday, Abdul-Razzaq stressed that there are no easy fixtures in the upcoming rounds. The opponent is eager to continue producing surprises and has the capability to do so. On the other hand, he said, “Abu Haila’s boys” are capable of returning to the top of the table.
