Al-Abyad meets Portsmouth in London

Kuwait Club’s first team will play its second friendly match in its London training camp today at 3:00 p.m., facing English Championship side Portsmouth.

White Coach Alexandre Santos is expected to outline his plans for next season’s squad starting with today’s match against Portsmouth, having reached an advanced stage in his preparations. This has allowed him to gain a thorough understanding of all players’ technical and physical capabilities. Training sessions continue morning and evening in the London camp. Santos has placed great emphasis on regular tactical lectures, using the latest technological tools to explain his tactical strategy, match approach, and player roles, while also correcting errors during daily training. He is also focused on strengthening team spirit, discipline, and responsibility among the players.

Kuwait Club played its first friendly in the camp against Milton Keynes, losing 1-0. The team will face English League Two side Barnet in its third friendly next Sunday, and will conclude the camp with a fourth match whose opponent has not yet been announced.

Meanwhile, Al-Fahaheel Club’s first team will play its first friendly in its Alexandria training camp today at 5:45 p.m., facing Al-Sekka Al-Hadid, a second-division team in the Egyptian Premier League.

Al-Fahaheel will play three additional friendlies in Alexandria before returning to Kuwait on August 17, in preparation for the start of the Premier League season on August 25.

Slovak coach Martin Ševela aims to raise the team’s readiness through twice-daily training sessions and friendly matches, as he works to identify the ideal starting lineup for his tenure at Al-Fahaheel.
