Saudi Crown Prince Discusses Regional Developments with Turkish President

His Royal Highness Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud held a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the call discussed bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Turkey and ways to support and strengthen them in various fields. The developments in the region were also discussed.

President Erdogan expressed his country’s condemnation and rejection of the attacks launched by the Houthi militia on ships in the Red Sea, and affirmed Turkey’s full support for Saudi Arabia. He welcomed the establishment of the multinational defensive maritime coalition led by Saudi Arabia, wishing it every success in achieving its objectives.

Earlier, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a similar telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump. The call discussed regional developments and their regional and international repercussions at various levels. The Crown Prince stressed the necessity of prioritizing dialogue to de-escalate tensions and emphasized the importance of making every possible effort to achieve a ceasefire that paves the way for diplomatic solutions yielding positive results to preserve regional security and stability, preventing a broader conflict whose repercussions would affect regional and international security and stability. The call also reviewed existing areas of cooperation between the two countries and ways to enhance them.

Meanwhile, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, discussed in a telephone conversation with Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, all regional developments and efforts to enhance security and stability in the region. The two sides also reviewed the solid fraternal relations between the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain, the frameworks of joint cooperation, and ways to strengthen them in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two brotherly countries and achieves prosperity and well-being for their peoples, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

In the same context, Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi discussed with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk, during his visit to Jordan yesterday, developments in the region, the repercussions of the ongoing escalation, and efforts to end it, restore calm, and achieve lasting security and stability. The two sides also reviewed ways to enhance existing cooperation between Jordan and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, according to the Jordan News Agency (Petra).
