25,114 violations, 1,320 traffic accidents, 89 fugitives apprehended, 40 residency violations seized, and 26 violators detained in a week

Kuwait officials: Field campaigns conducted by the Operations Affairs Sector, represented by the General Directorate of Traffic and the General Directorate of Emergency Police, over the past week resulted in issuing 25,114 traffic violations, responding to 1,320 traffic accidents, and apprehending 89 wanted individuals and 40 violators of the Residency Law. Additionally, six individuals were referred to the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics, three persons were detained in an abnormal condition, and 20 individuals were held in preventive detention at the General Directorate of Traffic, as part of continuous security and traffic campaigns to enforce the law and enhance road safety.

The weekly statistical report issued by the General Directorate of Traffic and published on its electronic platforms showed that 24,180 traffic violations were issued between July 27 and August 1, 2026. The report also noted the preventive detention of 20 individuals, the referral of six juveniles to the Juvenile Court, and the impoundment of 237 vehicles and three motorcycles for committing serious violations.

The Directorate also handled 2,443 traffic reports, including 985 collision accidents and 171 injury accidents. Specialized teams responded immediately to incoming reports, secured accident sites, regulated traffic flow, and took necessary legal measures.

On the security front, the campaigns resulted in the apprehension of three suspects suspected of possessing narcotics, who were referred to the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics. Additionally, 20 violators of the Residency Law and one individual lacking official identification were apprehended, along with 51 wanted individuals and 16 wanted vehicles.

Meanwhile, the General Directorate of Emergency Police conducted 1,969 security operations between July 26 and August 1, 2026. These operations led to the apprehension of 38 wanted individuals, 16 wanted vehicles, 20 violators of the Residency Law, and 13 persons lacking official identification. Three individuals were detained in an abnormal condition, and three suspects were referred to the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics. Emergency police patrols also provided 1,032 humanitarian assistance services to citizens and residents, including responding to sudden breakdowns, aiding road users, and supporting humanitarian cases.

On the traffic side, Emergency Police patrols issued 934 traffic violations, impounded 15 vehicles, and responded to 164 traffic accidents, as part of their daily efforts to maintain road security and safety.
