The Cabinet assigns Al-Faleh to monitor the government's environmental sustainability action plan to ensure Kuwait fulfills all its international climate and environmental commitments

The Cabinet recalled, during its meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister, on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of the brutal Iraqi invasion of the State of Kuwait, the treacherous crime committed by the Iraqi regime on the dawn of August 2, 1990. It affirmed that this event will remain a testament to national unity and a solid milestone, evoking in successive generations the great sacrifices made by Kuwaitis in defense of their homeland and sovereignty.

The Cabinet renewed its gratitude and appreciation to all brotherly and friendly countries that contributed to the liberation of the State of Kuwait and the restoration of rights to their rightful owners. It prayed to God to perpetuate the blessings of security and stability upon Kuwait under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

The Cabinet condemned the ongoing criminal Iranian aggression against the country, which targeted several vital facilities on the past Friday and Saturday. It stressed that the continuation of these blatant attacks constitutes a serious escalation and reflects an aggressive stance that cannot be justified or accepted. The Cabinet also condemned the attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by Iranian-affiliated militias in Iraq, renewing Kuwait’s absolute solidarity with the Kingdom and its steadfast support.

The Cabinet reiterated its condemnation and denunciation of the Iranian attack on the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan using several missiles last week, deeming it a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and a threat to the security and stability of the region. It also condemned the drone attack on the Arab Republic of Egypt, which caused fires on board two ships at the Port of Damietta last week, reaffirming Kuwait’s full solidarity with Egypt and its unwavering support.

The Cabinet listened to a briefing by Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ali on the latest developments in the region and military updates in light of the criminal Iranian aggression targeting the State of Kuwait. He affirmed the readiness of the Armed Forces and their continued performance of duties and responsibilities with efficiency and competence.

The Cabinet also listened to a briefing by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jaraah Al-Jaber regarding the political and diplomatic efforts undertaken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to keep pace with the latest developments in regional and international arenas. The Cabinet was informed of the outcomes of the Minister’s official visit to Pakistan and the substance of his meetings with the Pakistani Prime Minister and several officials there.

The Cabinet reviewed a visual presentation by Minister of Education M. Syed Jalal Al-Tabtaba’i on the Ministry’s preparations for the launch of the new academic year 2026/2027. He emphasized that school readiness, the stability of the educational process, and providing a suitable environment for learners are top priorities.

The Cabinet reaffirmed its commitment to developing the educational system and its focus on ensuring educational quality through curriculum updates, enhancing teacher effectiveness, and expanding digital transformation. It commended the efforts of the Minister of Education and senior officials of the Ministry in advancing educational quality.

The Cabinet reviewed the minutes of the meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Public Services and decided to entrust Minister of State for Development and Sustainability Dr. Reem Al-Faleh, in coordination with relevant government entities, to monitor the implementation of the government’s environmental sustainability action plan to ensure compliance with all of Kuwait’s international climate and environmental commitments.
