Bahraini Foreign Minister held telephone discussions with his Emirati and Jordanian counterparts on regional developments
Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulatif bin Rashid Al Zayani held two phone calls with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, to discuss developments in the regional situation.
The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement on Monday that the Bahraini Foreign Minister discussed with his UAE counterpart the close historical fraternal ties binding the two countries and their brotherly peoples, as well as ways to enhance coordination and joint consultation between the two nations on current international issues.
The statement added that the talks addressed developments in the current regional situation and regional and international efforts aimed at de-escalation and strengthening security and stability in the region.
It noted that the call also discussed the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to maritime navigation, ensuring the safety and security of navigation and safeguarding the rights and interests of regional and global countries in accordance with international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, as well as exchanging views on all matters and issues of mutual interest.
In a separate statement, the ministry said the Bahraini Foreign Minister discussed with his Jordanian counterpart the path of the strong fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields of mutual interest, in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two countries and brings benefit and prosperity to their brotherly peoples.
The statement added that the call discussed developments in the regional situation and ways to support regional and international efforts aimed at de-escalation and consolidating regional security and stability, as well as exchanging views on issues and matters of mutual interest and continuing political coordination and consultation in various international forums regarding various challenges.
