Investigation into the incident of an expatriate falling while sleeping and entering a coma

Interior Ministry agencies have opened an investigation to verify a young woman’s claim that her father’s fall from the top of a bed caused his critical condition, his subsequent coma, and his admission to an intensive care unit at a hospital.

A security source confirmed that the circumstances of the incident are unconvincing to law enforcement officials, particularly since an inspection of the scene suggests it is difficult to believe the condition the migrant has reached. The source noted that all possibilities remain open, including the suspicion of a criminal act, and that the reporting daughter may be attempting to cover up an incident that was the actual cause of the migrant’s comatose state.

In detail, a security source stated that a government hospital administration notified Interior Ministry operations of the arrival of a Syrian migrant in his fifties, who was in a coma following a fall from a height.

The source continued: “Security personnel were dispatched to the hospital. Upon hearing the statement from the reporter, who is the migrant’s daughter, she claimed that her father had fallen from the bed and that she was surprised by his cries for help, prompting her to rush him for medical treatment.”

The source emphasized that the improvement in the migrant’s condition would play a decisive role in confirming or refuting the daughter’s claims, noting that the matter would not be dismissed lightly. Specialized authorities have the capacity to determine the precise circumstances of the injury, whether it resulted from a fall from a height not exceeding half a meter, or from some other cause.

He added: “Criminal investigation authorities have been notified to re-investigate the case and to re-interview the daughter, the wife, and others who may have been present at the scene.”
