Trump: Talks with Iran are ongoing... and this is their last chance

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that talks are currently underway with Iran, adding: “We are now speaking with the Iranians at their request, and this is their last chance. I want to give them one final opportunity before completely eliminating them,” noting that these discussions are being conducted with the support of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and other countries.

He continued: “I want to give Iran one last chance before removing its leadership.”

Speaking to reporters before signing an executive order in the Oval Office of the White House, Trump said, “This is Iran’s last chance to reach a good deal,” affirming that “talks with Iran are ongoing, and the Iranians have not denied this.”

The U.S. president added: “We have a dispute with Iran, and things are going extremely well,” continuing, “The Iranians sometimes deny that talks are taking place, even though they spend long hours negotiating.”

Regarding the progress of the talks, Trump said: “We are currently discussing the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz by tomorrow, adding that Iran cannot impose fees in the strait, as we have complete naval control.”

Trump continued: “The second phase will involve stripping Iran of any nuclear capabilities, and I have never changed my position on this. This step is at the heart of the issue and should have been carried out a long time ago.”

He added: “We intended to strike Iran yesterday (Sunday), and it was planned to be the strongest strike ever.”

On oil prices, Trump said: “When we are done with Iran, prices will drop significantly.”
