Trump: Iranian leadership exhibits a dual understanding, "begging" for a meeting and then declaring that no discussions are taking place

U.S. President Donald Trump accused Iranian leadership of duplicity, following Tehran’s denial of holding negotiations with the United States.

Trump wrote in a post on his platform, Truth Social: “The Iranian leadership is characterized by unbelievable duplicity! They ask for a meeting—some might even say they ‘beg’ for it—and once talks begin and further rounds are scheduled for the near future, they then declare—clearly and proudly—that they are not conducting any discussions and that there is nothing under negotiation, and that their engagement is limited solely to ‘Oman.’ They then proceed to repeat their usual claims that they will close the Strait of Hormuz by force, even though the strait is already under complete control by the U.S. Navy and the ‘blockade’ we impose, or what some call the ‘American steel wall’! Nothing reaches Iran unless we allow it, and nothing will pass unless an agreement is reached or unconditional surrender is achieved. Whether Iran wants to acknowledge it or not, we are in fact discussing a solution to a problem that Iran has caused over decades. It is very simple: Iran will never possess a nuclear weapon.”
