Saudi Foreign Minister holds phone talks with his Qatari, Jordanian, and Iranian counterparts on regional developments and diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions

Saudi Foreign Minister, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan, held discussions with his Qatari and Jordanian counterparts on regional developments and the importance of supporting efforts and unifying positions aimed at de-escalation.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement on Sunday that this came during two separate phone calls received by His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan from the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayman Safadi.

The statement added that the calls discussed the importance of unifying positions and countering any actions that could undermine regional security, thereby ensuring the restoration of freedom of navigation in the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea, and limiting the negative repercussions of the crisis.

Saudi Foreign Minister His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan also discussed recent developments amid the current situation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, alongside examining diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted in a statement on Sunday that this occurred during a phone call received by His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan from his Iranian counterpart. The statement added that Prince Faisal bin Farhan emphasized during the call the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to continuing its regional role in establishing security and stability, which serves the common interests of all countries and peoples in the region.
