30,260 Kuwaiti citizens and nationals over the age of 40 remain unmarried

Official data released by the Public Authority for Civil Information revealed that more than 30,000 Kuwaiti men and women have passed the age of 40 without ever having married.

The data, which details the distribution of the Kuwaiti population by age groups, marital status, and gender, showed that the total number of men and women over 40 who have never married reached 30,268, including 10,806 men and 19,462 women. This indicates that the number of unmarried women exceeds that of unmarried men by approximately 8,656 cases.

The age group of 40 to 44 years topped the list of unmarried individuals, with a total of 10,383 men and women, comprising 4,479 men and 5,904 women. This group accounts for more than one-third of the total number of men and women over 40 who have never married.

The data further showed that the 45 to 49 age group includes 6,177 unmarried men and women, consisting of 2,287 men and 3,890 women. Meanwhile, the number of unmarried individuals in the 50 to 54 age group reached approximately 4,554, distributed among 1,512 men and 3,042 women.

The 55 to 59 age group recorded 3,322 unmarried men and women, including 1,003 men and 2,319 women. In contrast, the number of unmarried individuals in the 60 to 64 age group stood at approximately 2,498, comprising 710 men and 1,788 women.

Older age groups were not exempt from this phenomenon. The data showed that the number of men and women over 64 who have never married reached 3,334, including 815 men and 2,519 women.
