Increased loads cause fire at an electrical transformer

General Fireforce officers successfully contained a fire that broke out in an electrical transformer in the Ardiya Industrial Area, opposite the Fifth Ring Road, yesterday morning, with no injuries reported. The Fireforce Operations Center received a report of the blaze and dispatched firefighting teams from the Ardiya, Farwaniya, and Shuikh stations to the site. It was determined that the fire had started in an electrical transformer, likely caused by an overload of electrical demand. Field teams summoned engineers from the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, who cut off the power supply to the complex before firefighters began containing and extinguishing the blaze using specialized equipment for electrical fires, preventing the fire from spreading to the adjacent building. A fireforce source confirmed that the rapid response of firefighting teams, in coordination with Emergency Police patrols, contributed to securing the site and bringing the fire under control in record time, noting that initial assessments point to an electrical overload as the cause of the fire.
