Ministry of Higher Education: First phase of coordination has a minimum cutoff of 91.25% for Science and 86.09% for Mathematics, and 71.56% for Arts

Cairo - Ahmed Sabri: The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced the launch of the coordination process for the first phase of admission to state universities and institutes for the 2026/2027 academic year, starting on Wednesday, August 5, and running through Sunday, August 9. The minimum cutoff scores are 91.25% (292 points) for the Science (Scientific Sciences) stream, 86.09% (275.5 points) for the Mathematics (Scientific Mathematics) stream, and 71.56% (229 points) for the Arts stream for students under the new system.

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdulaziz Qansouwa, clarified in a statement yesterday that the minimum cutoff scores for students under the old system reached 90% (369 points) for the Science stream, 84.63% (347 points) for the Mathematics stream, and 65.85% (270 points) for the Arts stream.

He noted that the number of students whose preferences are scheduled to be accepted in the first phase under the new system amounts to 94,767 students, compared to 98 students under the old system.
