"The Basket": Dispatching 10 Talented Individuals to Serbia

Mohammed Al-Husseini, Acting Assistant Secretary-General and Chairman of the Training and National Teams Committee at the Kuwait Basketball Federation, announced that the board of directors has approved a comprehensive scholarship program for ten Kuwaiti players, in collaboration with sports companies, to develop talent in Serbia.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, Al-Husseini stated that this initiative represents a genuine investment in the sport by cultivating a distinguished generation for the national teams through its young players. He emphasized that it is not merely a training camp, but a process aimed at producing more skilled and confident players, noting that building national teams begins with developing and refining skills from an early age.

Al-Husseini clarified that the objective of this scholarship is to build a future generation of players born in 2011 and 2012, as a first step, with plans to continue such initiatives in the future. This aims to achieve the desired goal of raising the level and efficiency of basketball in Kuwait, primarily benefiting the national team.

The federation revealed on its official website that ten Kuwaiti players have been sent to Serbia for a 30-day period, starting from the 9th of this month until September 9 next year, under a comprehensive scholarship program in cooperation with specialized sports companies focused on developing basketball skills in Serbia.

This marks the first step in a program targeting talented players, supervised by the Training and National Teams Committee, to prepare them technically and physically and develop their skills through morning and evening training sessions under the supervision of world-ranked coaches.

Serbian national team coach Marko Beslic selected these players, who are: Omar Al-Asgar, Sulaiman Al-Mulla, Ali Al-Salahi, Khaled Al-Nashi, Abdulrahman Al-Marzouq, Fahad Al-Jumaa, Hamad Ahmed, Ibrahim Al-Hindal, Omar Al-Hudhal, Saqer Abdullah, and administrator Khaled Al-Matroud.
