Hanan Motaaw: I don't know the secret recipe for success!

Actress Hanan Mtawaaf confirmed that she is still on a continuous journey to find roles that add value to her artistic career, noting that her greatest challenge is maintaining the quality of the projects she undertakes, in line with her name, her history, and the artistic legacy she wishes to leave for the audience. She said she does not know the secret that allows some artists to consistently appear in successful works or quickly reach the status they deserve, emphasizing that if she knew that “recipe,” she would have applied it years ago.

Speaking during her appearance on the program “On The Road,” Mtawaaf added: “If I knew the recipe, I would have used it long ago. It’s a combo; it might be a group similar to a system, or perhaps divine intervention.” She then joked, “I am completely lacking that recipe. Bring it to me, and I’ll try it,” implying that success in the entertainment industry is not tied to a single factor, but rather involves multiple elements alongside hard work and talent.

She stressed that she refuses to waste her energy thinking about things beyond her control, explaining that her focus is entirely on developing herself as an actress. “I concentrate on what concerns me so I don’t go crazy,” she said, adding that preoccupation with competition or market calculations would add less to her than the work itself adds to her artistic tools.

In response to a question about what she lacks to reach the artistic status she deserves, Hanan clarified that she does not view her career as a completed journey. Instead, she believes artists must constantly engage in self-reflection, which is why she strives to avoid mistakes, seek novelty in every character she portrays, and not rest on her past successes.

Despite her long experience, she revealed that she still makes a point of attending acting workshops with Dr. Fared El Naggar, emphasizing that learning never stops regardless of an artist’s experience, and that it is essential to continuously develop one’s artistic tools.
