Washington urges Americans in the Middle East to consider leaving or preparing to do so in the event of escalation

The U.S. Department of State has urged its citizens in the region to consider departing or preparing to leave in the event of an escalation. In a statement, the department said, “Americans in the Middle East should exercise caution and prepare for potential airspace closures and travel disruptions,” warning that Iran and its allied groups could target U.S. interests or Americans worldwide. It also advised Americans outside the Middle East to reconsider travel to the region.
