Health Ministry: Elderly Care Initiative Provides Services to 2.9 Million Citizens

Cairo – Nadeh Imam: The Ministry of Health and Population announced that it has provided medical services to 2.966 million citizens aged 65 and older under the Elderly Healthcare Initiative, since its launch in 2022 through mid-July 2026, as part of President’s Initiative “100 Million Health.” The initiative aims to improve the health-related quality of life for older adults by screening for non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, kidney disease, anemia, and malnutrition, alongside conducting comprehensive clinical examinations. The services provided include electrocardiograms, abdominal and liver ultrasounds, vision tests, and oral and dental health assessments, ensuring close monitoring of overall health status. Additionally, early detection of age-related psychological and cognitive disorders is carried out through standardized questionnaires. Beneficiaries receive periodic follow-up cards, and cases requiring advanced interventions are referred to hospitals.
