AC Milan announces the death of its legend Franco Baresi

Italian club AC Milan announced the death of Italian defender Franco Baresi, who captained the club in the 1980s and 1990s, at the age of 66. Franco Baresi is considered one of the greatest defenders in the history of Italian and world football, having worn the Milan shirt throughout his professional career, which spanned from 1977 until his retirement in 1997.

During his career, Baresi played 716 matches for Milan across various competitions, scoring 33 goals and providing 24 assists. He also led the team to three UEFA Champions League titles, six Serie A championships, two Intercontinental Cup titles, three UEFA Super Cup titles, and four Italian Super Cup titles, remaining one of the club’s most enduring icons.
