Trump: Peace Council reaches historic agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the Peace Council, which he chairs, has reached an agreement on the disarmament of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, and other armed groups in the Gaza Strip.

Trump stated in a post on his social media network, Truth Social: “Today, the Peace Council reached a historic agreement to fully disarm Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza. This is a monumental step toward achieving lasting peace and security.”

He added: “This agreement represents a crucial step toward finally placing Gaza under the rule of a new Palestinian government that will work in close cooperation with the Peace Council to assist the Palestinian people. At the same time, Israel will enjoy the security it deserves.”

He continued: “This agreement is a key milestone in implementing Trump’s 20-point plan, which will be carried out through carefully planned phases. Upon completion of the disarmament process, Israeli forces will withdraw, and an international stabilization force will operate alongside a new Palestinian police force to assume responsibility for ensuring the security of Gaza and the safety of its residents.”
