Saudi Crown Prince holds phone talks with Bahrain's King and Syrian President on regional developments and efforts to enhance stability in the region

Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman held a telephone conversation on Thursday with Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to discuss the latest regional developments and efforts to enhance security and stability in the region.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that the King of Bahrain congratulated Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on the establishment of the multinational maritime defense coalition and the selection of Saudi Arabia as its leader and permanent headquarters.

The Bahraini monarch affirmed that this decision “reflects international confidence in the Kingdom’s leading role in enhancing collective maritime security.”

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also held a telephone conversation with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa to discuss developments in the regional and international landscape and the efforts aimed at de-escalation and enhancing security and stability in the region.

SPA noted that this came during a phone call on Thursday received by the Saudi Crown Prince from the Syrian President.

At the outset of the call, the Syrian President reiterated his country’s condemnation and denunciation of attempts by Iran-backed militias in Iraq to target Saudi oil facilities, reaffirming Syria’s steadfast support for the security and sovereignty of Saudi Arabia.

The agency stated that the call also reviewed bilateral relations and ways to develop prospects for joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
