Egyptian Foreign Minister and several of his Arab counterparts discussed recent developments in the region: Immediate halt to all military and escalatory actions

Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty held discussions with several of his Arab counterparts on recent developments in the region and the efforts underway to de-escalate tensions and contain instability. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement on Thursday that Abdelatty received phone calls from the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan; the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed; and Jordan, Ayman Safadi, as part of continuous consultation and coordination regarding regional developments. The statement clarified that the ministers emphasized the importance of an immediate halt to all military and escalatory actions, and the prioritization of political and diplomatic solutions that contribute to restoring security and stability, while preventing the conflict from expanding, alongside continued coordination and consultation among Arab countries during the current phase. The statement added that the ministers condemned the targeting of a convoy of two ships in the port of Damietta, northern Egypt, on Wednesday, firmly rejecting all attacks targeting civilian infrastructure or vital facilities, or those that threaten the security and safety of navigation and international trade. Furthermore, the ministers expressed their full solidarity with Egypt, emphasizing the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to de-escalate tensions and preserve the security and stability of the region.
