Chief of Staff: Consolidating security and stability and ensuring freedom of navigation in waterways

Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Sharhan, chaired the Kuwaiti delegation participating in the meeting of chiefs of staff of the navies involved in the Combined Maritime Forces’ coalition for the defense of freedom of navigation in the Bab al-Mandab Strait, which was held in the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. During the meeting, Al-Sharhan emphasized the importance of waterways and the necessity of safeguarding the safety of international navigation therein, particularly in light of current circumstances and the security developments witnessed by the region. He stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation and coordination among participating states, in a manner that contributes to consolidating security and stability and ensuring freedom of navigation in waterways. Following the conclusion of his official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Al-Sharhan and his accompanying delegation returned to the country.
