CENTCOM: We diverted the course of 24 commercial ships as part of the naval blockade on Iran

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that U.S. forces have diverted 24 commercial vessels, disrupted two, and inspected two others since the resumption of the naval blockade imposed on Iran. In a post on the X platform, CENTCOM stated, “As of July 30, U.S. Central Command forces have diverted 24 commercial vessels, disrupted two, and inspected two others to ensure full compliance.” CENTCOM accompanied its post with a video showing a U.S. Navy P-8 Poseidon reconnaissance aircraft approaching a U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker for aerial refueling while conducting a patrol in the Middle East. The post noted that the P-8 is a specialized reconnaissance aircraft, one of many aircraft monitoring territorial waters during the U.S. blockade on Iran.
