Fight ends with Kalashnikov gunfire and vehicle destruction

Ahmad Khamis: Interior Ministry agencies have launched an investigation into an incident involving a fight and gunfire from a Kalashnikov-type machine gun on Al-Abdali Street. The General Directorate of Criminal Investigations has begun its inquiries to apprehend all suspects, including the shooter and the occupants of the other vehicle.

A security source said the Interior Ministry’s operations room received a report of a fight and gunfire on Al-Abdali Street. Security patrols immediately responded to the scene, where they found a vehicle crashed against the roadside barrier. Three people inside stated they had been assaulted by a group of individuals they knew.

The source added that the complainants said in their statements that members of the group deliberately rammed their vehicle, then exited their own car and attacked them. One of the attackers then brandished a Kalashnikov-type machine gun and fired several rounds at the vehicle, smashed it, and fled before police arrived.

He clarified that during the scene examination, police found a bullet casing inside the damaged vehicle. The complainants said the incident stemmed from a previous altercation between the two parties that had occurred two days earlier.

The source noted that the injured were transported to Al-Jahra Hospital to obtain medical reports. Tests revealed that their injuries resulted from the collision with the vehicle, and no gunshot wounds were recorded among them.
